Uptech wins Telco Service Provider of the Year

We’re absolutely delighted to share that Uptech has been named Telco Service Provider of the Year at the 2025 Network Group Awards.

The ceremony took place at the stunning Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester, and while the trophy has our name on it, this award is really a celebration of our team – particularly the telecoms experts over at our sister company, Premier Voice & Data.

This win was based on a real-life emergency where one of our clients found themselves in a tough spot. Their on-site phone system failed without warning, leaving them unable to make or receive calls. With no immediate help from their current provider, they needed someone to step in fast.

Our Premier Voice & Data team were on-site within 30 minutes. Within just a few hours, they’d deployed a full VoIP solution using in-stock handsets, reconfigured their call routing, and had the business fully operational again – with a better, more reliable setup than before.

What could have been days of disruption was turned around in an afternoon. More importantly, the client didn’t just get a quick fix. They got a long-term telecoms solution built to grow with them.

This award is a credit to the whole team who jumped into action and worked together to make it happen. It’s also a reflection of the trust our clients place in us when the pressure’s on.

We’re proud of the recognition, but even prouder of how our people work – calmly, quickly and always with the customer in mind.

Whether you’re a growing business in need of a reliable phone system, looking to upgrade your connectivity, or want a partner who’s there when it really counts, we’ve got you covered.

Through Uptech and Premier Voice & Data, we offer fully managed VoIP solutions, broadband and leased lines, mobile connectivity, and ongoing IT support to keep your business connected, secure, and ready for anything. If you’re ready to modernise your telecoms with a team that truly delivers, we’d love to chat.

Skills For Life – Skills Bootcamps

Skills Bootcamps

As Suffolk’s economy continues to evolve, the need for a skilled and adaptable workforce has never been more critical. Skills Bootcamps – part of the Government’s wider Skills for Life initiative – present a powerful opportunity for employers and individuals to respond to these changing demands.

These flexible, employer-led training programmes are designed to equip adults with sector-specific skills over a short period (up to 16 weeks), supporting people into new roles or helping existing employees progress within their organisations. For employers, Skills Bootcamps offer a practical route to address recruitment gaps, upskill teams, and shape training that aligns directly with real-world needs. You can read more about businesses experiences on our case studies page.

In Suffolk, Skills Bootcamps have already supported local businesses in sectors such as digital, health and social care, construction, green energy, logistics and more. They can be tailored to support both new entrants and current employees looking to take on higher responsibilities.

What’s next?

A new Skills Bootcamp procurement round covering Norfolk and Suffolk is launching in early June, offering fresh opportunities for training providers, employers, and stakeholders to get involved. Providers will be invited to bid to deliver innovative, employer-connected programmes that respond to the region’s current and emerging skills challenges.

Why it matters:

  • ✔️ Employers can co-design training that leads directly to job outcomes
  • ✔️ Individuals gain industry-relevant skills and guaranteed job interviews
  • ✔️ Suffolk’s economy benefits from a more agile and future-ready workforce

Businesses across the county are encouraged to explore how Skills Bootcamps can support growth, recruitment, and staff retention — particularly in sectors where vacancies are hard to fill.

If you’re interested in partnering on Skills Bootcamps or would like to receive updates on the upcoming procurement, please contact skillsbootcamp@suffolk.gov.uk  or visit https://www.suffolk.gov.uk/business/supporting-employers-training-your-workforce/skills-bootcamps or register on the Suffolk Sourcing e-tendering portal: http://www.suffolksourcing.uk/
