Promotions and exam success at accountancy firm

Chartered Accountants and Tax Specialists, M+A Partners, is delighted to announce exam success and promotions across its Norwich and Cromer offices.

The three promotions comprise Kieran Flood to Chartered Accountant, Lauren Yates to Tax Adviser and Chloe Southgate to Senior Accountant.

The recent promotions reflect an ongoing focus on investing in career development and helping individuals reach their potential and are testament to the hard work and dedication of Kieran, Lauren and Chloe.

Kieran Flood – Chartered Accountant

Kieran joined M+A Partners in 2018 within the accounts department after completing his A-levels. He has successfully completed his ACA qualification and has been promoted to Chartered Accountant.

 

Lauren Yates –  Chartered Tax Adviser

Lauren joined M+A Partners in September 2021, after graduating with a Biochemistry degree from the UEA. She qualified as a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians in August 2024 and has now completed her CTA qualification. She has been promoted from Trainee to Chartered Tax Adviser.

Chloe Southgate – Senior Accountant

Chloe joined the Cromer office as a Trainee Chartered Accountant in early 2022, after working for another small firm for a number of years where she completed her AAT qualification and gained full MAAT status. 

Chloe has just completed her ACCA qualification and is now a Chartered Certified Accountant.

Konectbus Partners with The Guide Dogs to Enhance Accessibility on its buses

Konectbus is proud to announce its latest partnership with Guide Dogs UK to improve accessibility for individuals who are blind or partial sighted when travelling on their buses. This partnership highlights their commitment to creating an inclusive and accessible mode of transport for its passengers.

Konectbus understand the importance Guide Dogs play in providing someone who is Blind or partially sighted with independence. There are over 4,500 working guide dog partnerships in the UK. That is over 4,500 puppies that had to go through vigorous training to be able to guide their handlers with the confidence and the ability to put their trust in these dogs to navigate them in the world safely. That is why as part of the partnership, they are excited to invite the dogs and their trainers onto their buses and offer free bus travel for the guide dog puppies with their handlers.

Jay Baker, Puppy Development Advisor for the area, said: “We would like to say a big thank you to Konectbus for supporting us with this training session. It is important that our pups learn to travel calmly and confidently on different modes of transport, so they are well-prepared for when they hopefully become working guide dogs. Being able to practise bus travel, with support from Konectbus, has been a great training experience for both our pups, and volunteer Puppy Raisers.”

Take your team on a safari this year!

This summer, Break, the charity behind GoGoSafari – are calling on local businesses to become part of this exciting adventure by volunteering as Trail Rangers.

From June 23rd to August 30th Norwich and Norfolk will host a captivating art trail featuring 50 large animal sculptures, including gorillas, giraffes, and lions, designed by local artists and sponsored by businesses. But to make this incredible event possible, volunteers are urgently needed.

Supported by Stevensons, volunteer Trail Rangers will play a vital role in creating a memorable experience for trailgoers, and it’s a fantastic opportunity for any business to engage their team, support a local charity, and have fun while making a difference. Roles include keeping the sculptures looking their best whilst out on the trail, to getting behind the scenes and assisting  with the installation, or meeting trailgoers at the Safari Hub or pop-up fundraising events. There’s even the opportunity for a corporate take over day for any businesses interested.

“Volunteers are absolutely vital to bringing GoGoSafari to life,” says Tracey Warnes, Volunteer Lead at Break. “This is a wonderful opportunity for businesses who want something different to usual team building days and be involved something exciting, all while supporting a cause that makes a real difference to young people in care. Whether you can spare a few hours, a day or several days, every contribution counts and we’ve got roles that will suit everyone!”

GoGoSafari is delivered by local charity Break in partnership with Wild in Art, the Zoological Society of East Anglia, alongside Norwich BID and Chantry Place. This will be the fifth trail that Break has brought to Norwich and Norfolk, and it’s set to be the biggest and most exciting one yet!

Anglian appoints new head of fleet

Attleborough based multi-service contractor Anglian, has appointed Adam Mulley as head of fleet.

 

Adam joins Anglian to oversee the company’s vast and varied fleet which comprises more than 100 lorries, trailers, vans and plant run equipment. His role sees him taking responsibility for the entire Anglian fleet and drivers, as well as its on-site workshop.

 

Alongside day-to-day running and enhancing company processes, Adam will develop Anglian’s operations in line with the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) – a nationally recognised, voluntary scheme which enables businesses to measure and improve fleet standards.

 

A former fleet compliance manager and authorised examiner designated manager at Norse, Adam has more than 30 years’ experience in transport management. His previous role saw him responsible for 2,500 local government vehicles which were spread over six sites in the UK. During his career, Adam also has worked in fleet roles for Serco, Kier Group and Norwich City Council. He used to own a skip hire and waste management business and asbestos surveying company so is very knowledgeable in other areas of Anglian’s business.

With projects of all sizes in a vast range of locations, a well-maintained fleet is essential to enabling our expert divisions to undertake the works required, and to meet client expectations and deadlines. Tee Off for a Good Cause: Age UK Norwich Invites You to the 3rd Annual Charity Golf Day

Following the success of last year’s event, Age UK Norwich is delighted to announce its third annual Charity Golf Day, taking place at the picturesque Wensum Valley Golf Club on Thursday 1st May 2025. This fundraising event is supported by Barclays Bank Norwich and Group 1 Norwich.

This event is a fantastic opportunity for businesses to come together for a day of golf, networking, and supporting a worthy cause. Participants will be greeted with a warm welcome and breakfast upon arrival, followed by an 18-hole shotgun start at 10:00am. After the round, players can enjoy a delicious two-course meal, prize presentations, and fundraising activities.

Wensum Valley Golf Club offers a beautiful and challenging golfing experience for players of all skill levels. The idyllic Norfolk landscape provides a stunning backdrop for the course, making it the perfect setting for a memorable day.
