UEA Inaugural Lecture – ‘Connecting the dots: who pays the cost of networks?’
Inaugural Lectures Autumn 2017
Connecting the dots: who pays the cost of networks?
Prof Mich Tvede – School of Economics
Julian Study Centre lecture theatre, UEA
Networks connect almost everything in our world, and are increasingly influential in our daily lives. They enable us to work more efficiently, trade goods and services, and even form relationships. Harnessing the power of networks can be challenging, particularly when there is no central control over their components. In this lecture, Mich will explore the potential benefits and pitfalls of centrally controlled networks and their decentralised counterparts.
