This SundayLP Partner Jonathon Chaddand a family team of 5 others will be running the Bungay Black Dog half marathon to raise money for the East Coast Hospice. This charitable trust has secured land at Gorleston to build a 10 bed hospice which is now moving forward to the planning consent stage. This is a very worthwhile charity and I hope you will feel able to give it your support. In addition to inpatient end of life provision the Hospice will provide facilities for families to stay with patients and specialist palliative day care, alternative therapies, outreach homecare and educational training for those involved in the nursing profession.
We are aiming to get the whole team of runners to complete the circular course of 13 miles from Bungay to Beccles and back in an average of under 2 hrs and I hope that your support will motivate us to achieve that.

On the 24 April in the heart of the city, delegates arrived at the Library Restaurant after work for an evening of informal networking over Italian wine and antipasto. It was networking the Italian way. There was a fun, relaxed and energetic atmosphere as delegates enjoyed an Italian cocktail on arrival. The ideal environment to network as delegates embraced the ice breaker activity ‘Tally-ho.’ Delegates had the opportunity to meet every person in the room, a perfect way to break the ice and get people talking.
Moving into groups, delegates were able to mix and network with a new group of people. Each group moved upstairs to the beautiful reading room to taste handpicked Italian wine and antipasto with Jayne Raffles, The Library Restaurant. Delegates commented on the atmosphere and the opportunity to meet other people who may not usually attend networking breakfasts. ‘Network the Italian Way’ was a highly enjoyable evening where delegates expanded their network and met new people in a casual setting.
Delegates commented on the fantastic event as they departed. Those new to networking said they felt so at ease and thoroughly enjoyed their first networking event.
Ben Yassin, Computer Service Centre said:‘Great after hours event with the chamber last night. Lovely wine and company.’
Our next After Hours event is a Pub Quiz and will be held on the 5 June. For more details click here.
