Join the Norfolk Chamber for an afternoon of accessing specialist knowledge essential for any HR Professional or business owner.
The trend for out-sourcing of services and functions in both the public and private sector looks to continue unabated. The tendering of large contracts for services means that the HR professional needs to have a good understanding of TUPE and where the potential liabilities might arise which would cause problems for an organisation.
The experts at Birketts will take you through a typical out-sourcing and change of contractor case study looking at the HR and legal ramifications arising along the way. In particular they will touch upon some of the latest case law in this tricky area highlighting when careful judgement calls need to be made and what plans might need to be made well ahead of any re-tendering exercise.
Your speakers:
Mat Newnham, Partner Mat joined Birketts in 2005. Mat has experience in all areas of employment law including advising public and private sector clients on large scale employment issues such as dealing with mass redundancy situations, advising on significant changes to employees terms and conditions, and helping with TUPE transfers. He provides day-to-day employment advice to clients on contentious and non-contentious issues such as hiring and firing senior level executives, long term disability related absence issues and employee performance management.
Tom Sharpe,Senior Associate Tom joined Birketts in October 2010. Tom advises both public and private sector clients on all aspects of employment law. He undertakes the whole spectrum of contentious work, ranging from day to day advice on disciplinary and grievance issues to a wide array of Tribunal claims. In the non-contentious arena, Tom advises on redundancy exercises both small and large, TUPE in its various guises and the employment aspects of insolvency.
Sam Greenhalgh,Solicitor Sam qualified as a solicitor in 2010 and since then has specialised exclusively in employment law. Sam advises on contentious and non-contentious matters having particular expertise in complex large scale employment litigation and family friendly rights. Sam also has experience of advising on TUPE and collective consultation exercises.
